KW & Sons Excavating respects the privacy of everyone who visits our website. This policy explains what information this site collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It covers this website only. It does not cover information you give us in person, by phone, or on paper at a job site.
Information You Give Us
When you fill out a form on this site, we receive what you type into it. Our contact form asks for your name, email address, phone number, and message. Our free estimate form also asks for your project address, the services you need, your budget, and a description of the project.
Our employment application asks for your name, contact details, mailing address, the position you want, your availability, whether you are authorized to work in the United States, your work experience, and your typed signature. You may also attach a resume.
We use this information to answer your question, prepare your estimate, plan your project, or review your application. Our forms run on our own web server rather than an outside form service. Submissions are stored there and sent to us by email. They are not used for any unrelated purpose.
How Our Forms Filter Spam
Our forms use a spam filter that runs on our own web server. When you submit a form, the filter checks the message for signs of spam and gives it a score. We record that score and your IP address with the submission so we can spot and block junk messages. This check does not send your information to an outside company.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, this site records basic technical details when a page loads. These include the pages viewed, the approximate region a visit came from, the website that sent you here, and your browser and device type. This tells us which pages are useful and where visitors have trouble. It is not used to identify you personally.
Analytics and Cookies
We use two analytics tools. Matomo is hosted on servers operated by our website provider, so the data it produces stays with us rather than being shared with an advertising network. We also use Google Tag Manager, which loads Google measurement services such as Google Analytics. Google processes that data under its own privacy policy and may set cookies in your browser.
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. The ones used here support analytics and normal site function. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and Google offers an opt-out for Google Analytics. Blocking cookies will not stop you from reading this site or sending us a form.
Search Engines
Search engines, including Google and Bing, crawl the public pages on this site so people can find us. We use the free webmaster tools both companies provide. They report the search terms that led visitors here and any technical problems they find. Those reports are totals and do not identify individual visitors to us.
Search engines operate independently of our business. What they collect, and how long they keep it, is governed by their own policies rather than ours.
Fonts and Icons
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts and icons from the Font Awesome icon service. To show them, your browser connects to those services, which can see basic details such as your IP address and browser type. We do not receive that information.
Links to Other Sites
This site links to a few places we do not run, such as our Facebook page, Google Maps for directions to our shop, and our Google Business Profile, where you can leave a review. When you follow one of those links, you leave our website. Anything you do or enter there goes to that company and is covered by its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to read.
What We Do Not Do
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not trade or rent it to advertisers or data brokers. We share information only with the service providers that keep this website running, and only as needed for them to do that work. Those providers are our website hosting and management company, the email delivery service that sends form submissions to us, and the analytics tools described above. We may also release information when the law requires it.
Children
This site is intended for adults planning excavation work or applying for a job and is not directed to children under thirteen. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information through this site, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes and Questions
We may update this policy as the site changes or as legal requirements change, and the revised version will be posted on this page. If you have a question about anything described here, or you want to know what information we hold about you, reach us through our contact page.
